Neil O'Brien

Neil O'BrienNeil is an accredited IRFU Strength and Conditioning Coach and is currently conditioning coach with Old Belvedere RFC Senior Team (AIL Div 1A). Neil is also a personal trainer. He founded Keepfit.ie in 2009 in response to the growing demand for fun and convenient ways to improve fitness. Having lived in Australia for a number of years, Neil saw first hand how effective outdoor fitness training can be.

Neil is passionate about sport and has a background in rugby, having played in both Ireland and Australia. Aside from rugby, he enjoys soccer, sailing, mountain biking, weight training, skiing, scuba diving, kitesurfing, golf, tennis and any other sport that is on offer!

As well as running Keepfit.ie, Neil is a qualified Occupational Psychologist and delivers executive coaching and counseling to a wide number of organizations under the banner "O'Brien Consulting Business Psychologists." (www.obrienconsulting.ie). Neil has a keen interest in Sports Psychology and is a member of the British Psychological Society’s division of Sport and Exercise Psychology. At Keepfit.ie, our slogan is “Mens sana in corpore sano” (A healthy mind in a healthy body) and Neil utilizes his expertise as a Psychologist to achieve this.

 
Alan Doran

Alan is an IRFU Certified Rugby Coach and has delivered rugby coaching in a number of leading Dublin rugby schools.

Alan is passionate about sports and fitness and delivers his fitness training in an encouraging and supportive manner. Alan firmly believes that no matter how big the challenge in life, it can always be achieved.

When not delivering fitness training, Alan is involved in a number of other sports including tennis and mountain biking.

 
Jim Gorman

Jim Gorman hails from Boston in the USA. Jim studied at the University of Arizona where he was awarded a BSc in Exercise Physiology.

Since finishing at University, Jim has attained certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has experience in both the USA and Ireland in training all types of athletes in various sports including Athletics, American Football, Soccer, Field Hockey and Tennis.

Jim enjoys all sports, particularly rugby, soccer, tennis, and of course American football! Jim played representative rugby for the University of Arizona. Jim has also played competitive Ice Hockey and Basketball. Since moving to Ireland, Jim has become very involved in Tag Rugby. Clearly he has developed an aptitude for it as he was part of the team that won the all Ireland Tag Rugby Championships in 2009! Jim loves discussing new training ideas and assisting people meet and exceed their personal fitness goals.

 
Peter O'Donnell

Peter is an accredited and certified Conditioning Coach with the IRFU. He has worked in the Strength and Conditioning industry for nearly a decade, and has been an active sportsman for over 20 years having played rugby and cricket to a high level. He has worked with both individuals and teams in a number of different sports such as Golf, Tennis, Athletics, Rugby, Soccer, GAA, Cricket and Hockey. He also provides personal trainingwith individuals and small groups not associated with a particular sport. Peter has been an active rugby player since 2002, when he was on a rugby scholarship in New Zealand. Currently he is coaching with Old Belvedere Rugby Club. Over the last 2 years he coached the U21 Academy Team, but this season he has stepped up to take charge of the Junior Rugby Section, which caters for all adults not playing 1st team rugby. Currently Peter is studying for his Masters in Strength and Conditioning. Away from the hectic life of Boot Camps, Personal Training and Rugby Coaching, Peter likes trying anything active and different but can be quite happy to chill out....but not for long. There is always more that can be done!
